The Organization represents over 50 Employers with a combined total of more than 1 000 Employees that forms part and benefit by the current Skills Development Framework through continuous Human Resource Development. It is a Legal requirement for any Employer with an annual Payroll of R 500 000 or more to contribute an amount equal to 1% of it’s total Payroll to the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) in the form of a Skills Development Levy (SDL). The Employer can benefit from this Levy by following the necessary procedures as required by the relevant SETA as well as the Department of Labour and subsequently qualifying for the relevant Grants, should the required criteria be met. EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
The Employment Equity Act of 1988, as amended, requires all designated Employers to comply with it’s provisions. This includes, but is not limited to, the submission of an Employment Equity Plan and Report in the prescribed formats, on the following terms:
Employers with between 50 and 149 Employees on a bi-annual Basis;
Employers with 150 and more Employees on an Annual Basis;
Employers that exceed the relevant Sector turnover as per Schedule 4 of the Act.
